Onky Tonk strikes again!

I've heard that a Leather Handbrake can be purchased from Mitsu for a pretty penny, but I just bought some black 'pleather' and thought I'd give it a go myself.

Now this is not one of those crappy, slip over boot jobs. This is a custom tight fit as you will see in the pictures and looks totally factory. Now matches the rest of the leather gear stick and steering wheel.

Who would want this in vinyl and who would want this is genuine leather?

Also what would you guys see as a reasonable price for these in vinyl/leather?
Please keep in mind that there is quite a bit of work involved with these and they are partly hand stitched.

Okay... heading out tomorrow to source a matching leather. Once i get prices on that will post up prices for both Vinyl and Leather and we'll go from there.

well I paid 50 for my leather gear boot so i would say 40-50 for leather would be reasonable.. maybe 45 and u can put 5 of everyone one sold as sponsorship to amc :)

I definitely don't mind putting sponsorship back into the club. :)

Really depends on the price of the leather, but I'm estimating $45/50 for leather and $20 for Vinyl.

:bowrofl: Nah mate, vinyl or leather I don't really mind whatever comes..... Are you doing all one colour? I would prefer black if possible but whatever comes is fine - I am sure you will work it all out soon enough, you don't have to please everyone.

Update:

I am sourcing the leather from a supplier sometime this week. I am trying to get a leather that has a grain the resembles the stock parts. So may be a week or so wait.

In regards to those guys wanting the vinyl, PM me if you are interested as I can begin those immediately.

I think the MMAL ones were the full lever - Not just a cover.

I can post pictures of mine, but if I'm going to make heaps of them for you guys then I have another idea that will work much and probably look better.

I will take photo's regardless in about 10 minute and post.

The fit I have made for these is very very tight and secure. Mine does not slip at all.

If you are even more pleased with my work than expected, you could even use a craft multi-purpose glue to secure the skin to your current hand brake.

Will be most likely ordering the leather tomorrow guys.

The leather is not cheap, but therefore good quality too.

So cost will be $50 for leather with 10% donation back to AMC.
