Hey, i just got a 2nd gen v6 manual parts car, but it has a rather fast water leake from somewhere under the intake manifold, are there any coolant pipes etc. that run under there that could be the cause, or does it sound like something more sinister?lol

Yes, there is one that runs from the water pump back out the other end, is common for this to corrode especially when the car has not been cared for

ahh ok cheers for the info, going by the fact what little water was in the cooling system had no coolant in it, i'd say you just diagnosed the problem for me lol off comes the intake i spose:doubt:

I have the 3.0 V6 TS with a similar problem I discovered the other day. A very small pool of greenish water around what looks like a small black plastic connection that sits under the front inlet manifold just back behind the front middle injector. I had been losing coolant of around 500 ml over 2-3 week period. I just kept topping up coolant reservoir. It goes in in 2 weeks time for service and will have pressure test done. Couldn't find anything in the various diagrams in the workshop manual

Oh also....Don't do what I did...(gotta learn somehow) if the car IS full of coolant, drain some out. The lower intake manifold that sits on both the heads is actually sort of a cap aswell for the coolant, so if you don't drain it out you get 6 cylinders full of coolant:bowrofl:
Dont be so stressed out about taking it off, just have some bags and a marker and its pretty easy to take off, also the gaskets are paper so you will need new ones (Correct me if I am wrong)
