Hi all,

With the heading you might assume that I intend on transporting a body in the boot. Not the case at all.. I have two simple questions relating to a 2003 TL

I find the climate control centre push switch that turns the aircon on/off very hard to activate and deactivate, am I doing something wrong or do I need to replace/repair the switch?

Does the boot lid have a cover on the inside at the back of the number plate area ?

first off welcome!

1) the button can be a little difficult to push for ac on/off, i find you have to hit it square on.

2) boot lid carpet - is not standard on TL magnas - i belive it came standard on Xi Veradas, you can however buy the boot lid carpet from parts counter at mitsy still - if you wanna spend 90ish bucks on it - and it does NOT include the clips you will need. (need 14)

The aircon button is a pain in the ass. I find I have to change it from "auto" to somewhere in the velocity of air range to have it activate and deactivate.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I will keep the money for the carpet in my pocket. I found that the top edge of the switch needs to be pushed very firmly actully bloody hard to switch the unit on/off. I thought it might be a fault that I can get the dealer to fix. Unfortunately it sounds like a bad design item.

you can always try to hit up the wreckers for the boot lid carpet if you want it that badly
dunno how much they would charge you there for it, but possibly not that much cheaper than new i would imagine.

My A/C button is a pain too, I've given up on it. Never really have a want/need to have the AC off and fan on anyway.

you can just cut 2 pieces of mdf and carpet and screw them into your boot.. looks better and is cheaper

Personally I prefer the original carpet, the MDF will not shape to the lid

AFIK the liner is no longer avail from mits
