Hi all, does anyone know how to remove the strip on the front of the bumper? hard to explain, see photo.

I've been to the wreckers, and levered it off with a scwedriver, but most of the tabs snap that way. I'd prefer to leave the bumper on if I can. The problem is the Dodgy Metal clips holding it in at the back. Is there an effective way to do this? [I'm guessing if there is its easier to remove the bar hey?]

Reason is, since I've bought the car there have been a few scrapes on this strip from the previous owner hittting something slightly, and they have always annoyed me and I'm finally doing something about it!
If worst comes to worst, I can snap the tabs off and glue it on with some contact or something I suppose.

Thanks if you can shed some light,
-Matt.

Remove bumper to get to the clips. Why not just repaint the damaged area black. Mask off, then paint.

But if I paint it It will still have the rough jagged bit where he has grinded on something. the only way would be to sand it down then paint I suppose, but would most likely need to paint all the bumbers/strips/black plastic then to suit. which I am considering doing, painting all the black strips. black still, but they are getting a bit faded over time.

i re-painted all of my trolly strips. You can get KandH bumper/trim paint (thats what it's called) from super cheap fro about 12 bucks a can. the paint is a bit flexible so it will last better with knocks and bends. Just sand them down good first so there is a key for the paint to stick to. and clean it well before you spray as well.
Oh and if you take off the strip you will have a funny looking gap all the way around.
