Hopefully i secured myself a set of parra's from Ego, but hes being secretive about who got the next couple of sets lol

Don't worry about moving the badge - just remove it.

dont remove the badge, its one of the few badgings which actually gives something to the look of the car
unbadged beaks look boring, just move it up or keep it where it is, doesnt look too bad

Damn, I wish somebody would smash my whole front-end.... I could use: TJ bonnet, guards, new paras, KJ grille, front bar (I imagine I could get away with the J upgrade... got a KE grille now).

That'd make it a full blown TJ conversion! :)

Hope you got $400 to blow :)

...

KJ Grille - $280ish?
Ralliart Grille - $400!

I won't be doing a TJ conversion on the front unless I get in a crash though, no more mods for the TH. :)

yeah I have a lot to do before hand. I must sort out the suspension ASAP. In terms of handling, King Lows and KYB shocks all round should be pretty good but still comfortable-ish right?

Comfortable... No!

Sporty and stiff, Yes!

Also depends on your tyre pressure as well.

Stock shocks, King SL/L, 235/40/R18, and 40psi I feel every bump, if I reduce to 36ish (not recommended for 18/8) it is a bit softer :)

Saying that KYB's I hear are much stiffer...

what would you suggest I get for a bit of a trade-off? I hate the monster truck height and it feels like im driving around in a bowl of jelly right now.

If you want comfortable but heavily reduced body roll...

Stock shocks, King Sports Springs (Maybe Lows?), Front & Rear Sway bars, Strut brace, and 17" rims.

17" rims - check
Front & Rear Sway bars - check

Strut brace - $150?
Stock shocks - eek, $400?
King Sports Springs (Maybe Lows?) - $200?

Try $300 for springs, not sure on shocks. You'll only need them if yours are worn. I'm guessing they are?

Basically when it comes to shocks:

Stock - Comfortable
Pedders or equiv - Sporty Stiff
KYB - Stiffer

And are the sway bars decent quality, if they are too thin they tend to be useless from what I hear...

front one is standard but rear is the 24mm whiteline adjustable jobbie that i took off brendans old white car

I'd suggest replacing the front as well then, if you don't replace the front the strut brace becomes useless IIRC.

my front left shock doesnt actually absorb anything anymore. I fear for my VR-X rims everytime i fail to miss another Sydney Pothole.

Dave

i dont really need a track-ready setup, just something a bit sportier and more aesthetically pleasing. I might ring around and get a ball aprk figure for the shocks.

Haha you got nothing man, I'm rolling all over sydney on 18x8's... if I reduced tyre pressure they'd be dead :P

As for the front sway bar/strut brace - It's not really a track-ready thing. It's just a good way to reduce your body roll...

The main issue was the back end rolling about. With the thick swaybar on the back it helped dial out a LOT of understeer which was very suprising. I may well go with the front sway bar and strut in the future. I just paid $550 excess to AAMI for the last repair bill, not quite ready to go splurge on her again

I reckon my car rides better after installing King Lows/KYBs.

You do pick up a bit more of the bumps and imperfections in the road with the stiffer spring, and don't even think of taking a speedbump/driveway at speed... but it actually feels plusher when you hit a good-size bump like a depression in the road or when you drive onto a bit of bitumen that's a bit higher/lower than the rest of the road. I'm putting that down to the better shockies.

Maybe its just the SL's, 18s, and 40psi but I feel EVERY bump on the road :P Hell if I go over a 1mm rock I feel it. I love it :)

Yeah the tyre pressure/rims wouldn't help, when I pump them up to 38/40psi it's noticably bumpier. 34-35psi works well on the 17s for comfort.

Stock shocks wouldn't help either. Like I said, I think the KYBs work better than the stockies - when you hit a big bump, it's actually a LOT smoother with the KYBs. You still feel it, but it's nowhere as harsh.

34-35 is just dangerous on 18s :P 40 is recommended :)
