Alright long story short is ive got a TS magna with:
-JVC KD-G725
-Alpine Type S 6.5" Coaxils for the rear
-Alpine Type R 6.5" Splits for the front
-Alpine V12 MRV-F345 4 channel amp for speakers
-JL W3V2 12" in sealed box
-Alpine V12 MRD-M605 Monoblock for the Sub

Now plan is to put all this in the misses new wagon (3rd gen) but am thinking of a couple of changes. due to the fact the wagon is gonna actualy be used as a family car having a sub in box is nice for being able to remove but was thinking of putting in a custom box over wheel arch and perhaps getting a second for the other side. Similar idea as http://www.aussiemagna.com//forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=28214&d=1170039399

secondly was thinking of putting a set of better splits up front and having the type r's in rear doors as a bit of fill for the middle of the car, i like the look and sound of the new JL ones that i saw in jb for 700 (so much more then the type r's....) and hooking up another amp just for them.

Now third and finaly am looking at screens dvd player or even car pc further down the track, but just wanting to get some ideas out there, was thinking head rest mounted screens and an in dash up front.

Just wanting to put my ideas out there and see what people have to same, flame away if i'm being a moron and please send some insperation for install ideas!!!

Cheers, Mikey

Pick whatever components you like the sound of.

Depending on how fussy you are with your sound, use plenty of Dynamat Xtreme/Roadkill etc if you want good sound, preperation is the key, then set up, tuning, and components.

$700 speakers wont sound great without a good set of doors, however a $300 set wont sound much worse without much prep work.

As for subs - look at the Vibe audio power sub's. Reasonable prices, and they are removeable for when you need the full wagon space.

Sounds good but make sure you Audition lots of front splits as this is where the sound will mostly come from. From sound perspective, splits in the rear doors are a good idea, just make sure you turn them down.

never sound deadend last car so keen on with this one, would http://www.ryda.com.au/Dynamat-10455-Xtreme-Bulk-Pack-p/10455.htm be enuf for the wagon or some more aswell? was thinking of perhaps some 3 way splits for up front, any ideas recomendations???

Canberra dosnt have too many good sound places so gonna be a small amount of choice sadly, got elite, JB, braddon and bdl as far as i know thats all :(

I think I have half a bulk pack in my front doors (and more to go.....).

In all honesty, set a budget first, and stick to it.

A bulk pack will do front doors, and a decent part of your boot. Since you have a wagon, killing road noise is just as important as stopping vibrations for good sound. You dont want your speakers to compete with the noise from the tail end.

Avoid 3 ways. Good 2 ways with an average set up will have better sound than great 3 ways and poor set up.

For amps - Jaycar response is still my pick for most set ups, unless you really are chasing great SQ. However for compact installs (awaiting flames lol) Alpine PDX series is rather nice, as is Vibe right now (damn you Charisma....checked out their site and cant stop thinking about em).

For speakers - its whatever your ears decide, screw what people think (to an extent).

For sub - so many choices......

see budget is one of them things lol, gonna be a bit by bit project so could end up being 1billion dollas later.... maybe overstatement but plan is to build at it slowly (getting better mid and rear speakers later) but yeah want to do front stage right first time round and while installing what i got for now should spend some dough sound deadening....
Think budget will be what ever i get from my TS minus 1000 so yeah say 2000 for arguments sake

I've said this many a times....

Vibe power sub (removeable) and are around $450-$500 IIRC.

Amps:
Front & rear stage: Jaycar Response 4 x 100wrms $269
Sub: Jaycar response 2 x 150wrms (500wrms @ 4Ohm when bridged) $224

Sound Deadening: Dynamat Xtreme Bulk pack $249
Dyna Xorb things $49

Wiring: $150 (new battery terminals, wiring kit, and $3/m speaker wire)

Rear speakers - good set of Coax speakers so around $150
Front set - leaves you with $409 for front speakers.

Or you dont worry about your rears for the time being, and you have close to $600 for your fronts.

alright the idea is to build on the system i already have! so yeah say 1500 would be for sound deadening, new front splits, new amp and another sub with some boxes made up

Read your post wrong.

Oops.

In that case, if you're happy with the general sound.

I'de still go with the removeable sub ($500).

Wiring $150

Sound deadening $350

Then whatever splits you choose.....

Still around $1500...

was thinking does anyone have any input on slim/shallow subs? was looking at the soundstream stealth 12" and the kicker 07cvt122/4 was thinking maybe a slim box atached to the rear door on wagon??? any input lol
Also has anyone tried the jaycar sound deadener stuff? http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=AX3688&CATID=&keywords=sound+deadener&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=
