Guys,
Ive got a TJ Ralliart and am looking at an after market exhaust.

Something that will sound great (Not dronning) and will give the car some extra punch

Any ideas, suggestions? Whole cat back systems or just the muffler?

Cheers

A lot of people have Lukey LR2779 mufflers, do a search on them and heaps of threads come up.

I got mine done just over a fortnight ago and I like it a lot.

Thanks Richie, any example / sound clips on here to see what the Lukey sounds like on a Ralliart, the last thing i wanna do is go out and spend the cashola and make the car sound like a rice burner:cool:

Cheers

You won't get any more poke out of an aftermarket exhaust on your ralliart, and it already has the Lukey/Sports/VR-X muffler on it from standard. The only difference is the chrome tip. Ralliarts have shorty extractors, 2.4-2.5" piping and a "bomb" style centre resonator standard. If you want noise, try a different muffler altogether, not the Lukey, and maybe remove the centre muffler, if ralliarts have them.

By exhaust i assume you mean extractors, exhaust in a magna is already decent. So is cat converter. Two main things, get a muffler (canon or sport muffler), sports muffler is prob the best way to go in order to keep the noise to a minimum. Extractors, plenty of the around, RPW ones are alright but come at a premium cost compared to others.

Or pardon my ignorance does ralliart already come with sports muffler?

Take it from someone who owned a Ralliart and did the exhaust and extractors - leave the stock system alone! It sounds great and you won't gain any power from a new exhaust system with extractors. If you want more power, either get a supercharger, or open the head and install some new cams and a piggyback.

Agree with above.
The Ralliart already has a good Exhaust system including decent extractors and 'sports' muffler.
If your after more sound - then there may be some gains (in sound) from some of the aftermarket exhaust mufflers (Lukey/Redback) or even MagnaFlow which I've heard good things about but they're not cheap.
If your after more power - then there's probably other places you can spend the $$$ but there's plenty other AMC members who will be better to talk on that, than me.

Also, welcome to the club

Like the other guys have said, the Ralliart already has a free-flowing exhaust on it. A catback exhaust system is unlikely to give you any real gains. Properly designed ftermarket extractors (Pacemakers and RPW come to mind) will give a little gain to performance, but arguably it's not worth the extra money.

If you just want a nicer note, I'd change the rear muffler for a Magnaflow.

Thanks for all the replies guys and the welcome note guys, really appreciate it :D

Looks like its probably the best option to leave the car in the status quo state of tune

Once again thanks to all
