Any recommendations on where I might get a reco'd engine for a '94 TS? Mine is still going good, but with 360,000km on the clock I'd sorta like to have a spare on standby "just in case".

A family friend got an engine for his Tarago for $1200 a year or so back, how does that compare to what I could expect to pay for something for the Magna?

By the miracle that is known as the "left field Google search result", I somehow stumbled across Asian Auto Spares (located in Brisbane) who are supplying 6G72 engines for $800. Depending on their freight charges, that should see it to the door for under/near $1000 - bargain! Definitely beats getting a complete car with unknown history and taking your chances with it...still get to save up the dollars tho!

Doesn't say anything about the donk, it could be seized internally for all you know!

If that was the case, they could hardly market it as a "replacement engine", could they? It's only a replacement if it actually works!

And they also say this in the blurb on the left that is displayed permanently: "All engines and half-cuts are tested and hot run to ensure that it meets our quality control requirements before passing them for sale to our customers."

the mitsubishi spare parts clearence house had a 6G72 (tr,ts V6 motor) for $1000, i rang cain and he had one there awhile ago
