Morning all!

Just wondering, may be a simple answer, not too sure, but, I'm looking to put a sun-roof into the 380. Any suggestions of 1: Any particular body shops i should look at... (Melbourne)
or 2: Is it as simple as going to a Mitsu Dealership and seeing what they can do for me...?

Dare I say it, taking it to a Mitsu dealer would lead to a young, in-experienced person fitting your sunroof booked out at $135.00 per hour. I'd get quotes from panel shops that are authourised repairers if you want a quality job and definately cheaper than Mitsu Service.

actually if u take it to mitsu they will take it to another place and charge u for there time getting it there and back on top of what it cost. best bet is to take it to a reputable place like the sunroof centre http://www.sunroofcentre.com.au/index.php

interesting, thanks for sharing details, always interested to see how much it would be

Hey yeah, that's a good idea. I never thought of doing that... I just figured I missed out on the feature with the VRXs, etc. Now I'm curious... please let us know what you get quoted for it? And if the product is the same/lesser/better than the 380 sunroof. Thanks.

Grubco,

Looking at the Sunroof Centre webpage, the Hollandia 700 looks near enough identical to the factory 380 sunroof, but with a couple of extra features.

The web page doesn't say how much it costs, but as they reckon it's their 'top of the range' model I doubt if you'd get any change out of $2,000, which was the option cost on a 380.

I've never had a sunroof before but I'm loving the one on my 380, makes the price I paid for it even more of a bargain. Now that I think I've fixed the juddering that plagued it when going from tilt to closed. Tried a few things (silicon spray on the rubbers, plenty of grease on the runners), but what seems to have worked is a liberal dose of silicon spray on the hinges.

KJ.

I just called Prestige Sunroofs here in WA and they quoted me over the phone;

$2600inc GST fully installed for the 700 model with 3 year warranty
http://www.prestigesunroofswa.com.au/product_detail.php?pid=1

+$99 for extra 2 years warranty
+$180 for rain sensor (auto close)

He said they would need the car for 4 days. He also mentioned that he did the factory installs for Ford and Holden for many years - they were all installed after manufacture.

Looks like too much time and money now. Reckon I'll stick to the windows and aircon . Next car perhaps.

Just got a reply from Sunroof Centre -Melbourne-

For the 700 model, "this sunroof is fully installed incl GST for $2100.00 if paying by credit card or $1995.00 by bank cheque or cash," which includes the auto close sensor.

Thinking of getting it done, will still look around in case the price varies more...

Hopefully it helps

I had a Hollandia 300 fitted to my silver VRX over 3 years ago. They did a great job...
