Got a quick question about towbars.

My car has one on it, i never use it, i wanna remove just the bit that sticks out behind the car, looked under the car and its just 2 bolts holding it onto the rest of the towbar frame, just wondering in NSW is it legal to remove this part yourself? Also if i re-attach it to tow stuff in the future is it legal to do yourself? Probably a dumb question but i know some laws are pretty strick on stuff like this sometimes.

All totally legal mate. In fact most new towabrs on current models are deliberately designed with a quick release mechanism precisley so that you don't always have to run with the towbar tongue on.

Cool,thought it was a dumb question, time to go out and rip off that rusty looking eyesore.
