I am picking up a car from a carrier company at Wingfield and need someone to drive my Magna back for me, the person who was going to do it was called in for a work shift and cannot do it, my wife does not drive and everyone else is at work (tomorrow) Friday afternoon.

The depot at Wingfield shuts at 4.00 pm, so I need a person to drive from the depot at Wingfield back to Hallett Cove, all they need to do is follow me. I figured by asking on the AMC forum I may find someone who will not thrash my 'baby TJ' (especially near red light and speed cameras).

But I realise that it is risky asking on a public forum, but when you are stuck you sometimes need to ask and trust someone. None of my neighbours can do it either, so I'm really stuck. Thanks

Your best bet is either public transport or taxi there and then drive it back. Taxi will set you back at least $60.00 from Hallet Cove.

Yeah, I've thought of the taxi but would rather leave that as a last resort, I checked it's about $70 approx and knowing Adelaide's public transport system I'd have to catch several buses or trains to get there, I'm at work until 2 pm.

LOL, if it was a form of Adelaide public transport I'd still have to catch 3 of them to go 10 km's.

you should be able to get public transport to the city then taxi it? would be a fair bit cheaper.

Yeah, not a bad idea, I'll look into it, but with the hot weather over here I'm not eager to be waiting for and relying on public transport. I'd rather the air cond comfort of my car when it's 42 degrees, but still it's a good idea.

cant help you, sorry. stuck at work and to be honest, don't fancy a drive down to hallet's and then back again. should only cost you $20 or so to get a cab from the city out to Wingfield, just don't let them take South Road, you be there for days. So a total of $30, not too shabby, when there isn't an alternative.

Oh and just for the planning etc, there is no public transport into Wingfield itself, there is a bus that runs hourly (off peak) from the city, comes down Churchill Road then along Grand Junction Rd towards Tea Tree. Also used to be a bus that came up Grand Junction Road from the Port and went on to South Rd, terminating at Arndale. Also a bus that runs straight down Grand Junction Road from Tea Tree, but is a peak hour bus only.

If its the carrier I'm thinking of, they on Cormack Road? def nothing will get you out there except a car :D

Yeah, Ceva logistics Cormack rd. Wingfield, one of my wife's friends is going to drive my car back for me now and I'll pay her for her troubles since it's so hot, I will have to avoid South rd. I think Marion rd is the go, thanks heaps for all your replies and advice, and being at Wingfield I would not attempt public transport even without a heat wave.
Thanks heaps everybody :)
