Mmmmmmm i can only give advice on how I did it on a 2nd gen. There is a bleeder nipple on the slave cyl on the gearbox. I bled it just like you would your brakes. Close nipple. Pump pedal. undo nipple with hose on end, watch fluid come out. (do with clutch fluid reservoir cap off and make sure fluid stays topped up) and repeat until no bubbles.

Someone correct me If I am wrong though

the 3rd gens are a pull clutch setup, not sure if the 2nd gens are the same. They are a bitch to do, all you can really do is get the air out and then wait for it to get better. One way of speeding up the processe is to push the pedal in and get someone to hold the clutch fork out with a level bar of some sort then pull the pedal back up and pump it again. Not the best way to do it but it works.

anywhere on the web have pics with a walkthrough? could this not being bleed be the cause of the shudder?

possibly, if the clutch is not bled correctly it could have constant pressure on the flywheel causing a little bit of slippage at all time which would be causing the shudder.
