Hi All. OK, went a bit too far onto a car park at work today, so when I backed out there was a nice graunching sound and I've pulled the underbody engine panel partly off (again). The one that is bolted into the front bumper and covers the bottom of the motor. I've looked around in here and found this in the parts thread:

Revised Underbody Panel for Engine Bay (One that wont crack and fall down and drag under the car body) - P/N: MR922448 - ~$20

I have a 98 TF. Do I already have this panel under my car? The panel itself doesn't seem damaged, it looks like I've ripped off whatever was holding it together (a bolt maybe), so now it's hanging down on 1 side. I've tucked it up temporarily, but am thinking if there is a newer better design available, I should take it.

Regards, Tony

got a pic of the guard in question?
its just the splash guard yeah?
if its the one im thinking of, then yeah mines all cracked but is still holding together ok
they are held in by those screw in fittings (screw goes into the plug to spread the plastic bits that hang down)

I would replace it. if its only $20 anyway. I would take a stab and say it keeps crap from flying up from underneath. but I havent had one for yonks and yeah. better to have one though.

For 20 bucks, grab a new one and when you put it on, use nut and bolt under it instead of those crappy scrivets
