hey guys,
recently picked up a sunvisor screen, installed it then relised it can hook up to my dvd head unit easy enough, but how can i hook it up to my carputer? my carputer currently displays on a fold out screen using VGA, but the sunvisor screen only has AV (yellow and white) cables to connect to. The only way i can think to do this is get a VGA splitter then run one to the fold out screen and the other to a VGA to AV cable? is thats possible, but this would mean loosing quality on both screen, wouldnt it??
any other ways??
cheers
Best bet is to install a gfx card supporting svideo to the carpc, this allows a secondary output with alternative resolution. I have this setup on my HTPC (Use it to watch movies on a 37" LCD, but also has output to a 34cm CRT tv via svideo).

Original Post:
If you dont want to go down the video card avenue.
Try something along these lines:
Video to USB Adapter (http://www.svideo.com/usbvista.html)

I don't think a Composite video input for his computer is going to help...
As suggested, best bet it to buy a graphics card for your Car PC that has an S-Video out on it (you can convert that to composite with an adaptor easily) for your visor screen, and still connect your good screen with VGA. You can then either mirror or extend onto it.
I bought an old ATI Radeon PCI graphics card for my car PC a while back should I decide to add an additional screen, works a treat.

The sun visor screen doesn't have composite out does it?
Just one thing, graphics card get very hot... So much sure you vent your case well, maybe even add a couple of extra fans.

I would honestly recommend a filtered suck and blow setup.

I haven't done anything for the cooling in mine and it's been going strong for over a year, nary a heat issue. The only fan in my setup is the 1in fan on the CPU.

yeah i think ill just buy a Graphics card then use s-video to connect to the screen..
i have a decent graphics card here out of a desktop pc i had, but i doesnt fit the carputer mother board. ive herd of pci raiser cards (i think thats wat there called) that should allow the graphics card to fit, but would it be cheaper and easier just to buy a new graphics card thats fits? sorry bout the noob questions lol

Is the motherboard PCIX?
Also if the card doesnt fit in the case, try one of these: http://www.logicsupply.com/products/pcie_101l_16
