Trying to replace this rear mount in my TS. But I can't see how you are supposed to get this nut off. It's the bolt that goes through them mounting. I CAN get a socket on it but there is zero room to swing the handle.
Has anyone done this one????

Can you get to the other end of the bolt?

Yes I can get good leverage on the bolt head on the other side with a bout 750mm of extension. But it won't turn. Wants the nut off the other end.

dont reckon you could get a spanner that has been shortened to undo that, they are tight!,can you use a breaker bar with a couple of uni joints and extensions??
Ps,isnt that the front engine mount?

This is the REAR engine mount, correct? IF SO, get a ratchet+ extension on the pass. side of the car under all the lines/pipes etc and to the bolt (IIRC it's a 14mm bolt). Use a spanner for the other side (under the untake manif.) and jam it against the firewall to prevent movement from that side. That's how it'll come out without taking the engine out.
IF you are taking the engine mount, quit the stuff around and undo the bolts holding the mount to the body and remove the entire mount with the engine. :)
Hope this helps.

I assumed its the front mount cos you can see the top radiator hose?,either way, should be similar

That's a heater pipe going back to the firewall. It's the rear mount.
My Plan:
You've all given me what I think is the right idea:
As I can get a socket and long lever onto the head of the bolt (Drivers side in this case) by taking off the air inlet assy, and as I can get a spanner on the nut and jam it against the firewall - I plan to try to turn the bolt out of the nut by turning the bolt head. I've given it all a spay with WD40 overnight to see if that helps.
I've come so far buying tools and parts (the Kelpro replacement part is the wrong design - I had to get genuine) and practicing on the easy to get to mounts, I'd hate to take it to a mechanic now when I'm so close to finishing this off.
Hey Yann - I'm an Ian too.
