Hello all,

Newbie here and am looking for advice on a weird problem with my TF's auto transmission. I am not sure if it's a problem, but as this is my first automatic car, and I havent any really knowledge on magna's I thought it be best to ask the experts, you guys!

The problem with it is that, on random occasions when the gears shift from 2nd to 3rd, it sounds like the gear actually shifted twice. The thing is, it only sounds like it did. There is not increase in the rpm meter, the change is smooth and the it changes into the 3rd gear. This only happens during the 2nd gear shift, and it happens really randomly. I tried to figure out what conditions leads to it happenning, by accelerating slow, and quick, as well as from a cold start but there seems to be no pattern to it. It just randomly happens.

Any ideas on what is wrong with the transmission?

have you checked the fluid in the box?
may need a change

Yup, there's fluid in the box, and its light yellow in colour.

Transmission fluid should be red buddy, kinda a creaming soda/red cordial (closest thing I could think of) colour....

That's worrying

yellow??,should be pink or dark red depending on condition,unless aftermareket fluid is yellow

Oh boy.....will send it to the mech first thing tomorrow, and get it changed. Hopefully...it doesnt turn out to be a big problem, fingers crossed!
