hey guys. i know ive posted a similar thread before. i just couldnt seem the find it... i have a 2000 th magna sports and im after upgrading the exhaust. will i get many gains from doing just the cat back? thats all i can afford atm as im buying a house at the same time :( ive heard the magna exhausts are very restrictive so i figured this would be the best option. im just getting a metthams job done as they seem to be the most popular plus my mate referred me there and i got a good price from them. any thoughts would be much appreciated

Hi Chrisso
I agree if you currently have the sports exhaust it is usually good enough as it is
If so, ask your installer what he is offering you that he considers better and let us know what, and how much
If he thinks that the existing muffler is partially blocked, do your own test - hold the palm of your hand ~ 20cms from the tip and have someone start, idle and then rev engine to 2500rpm for brief periods, and then compare with other magnas
If the exhaust is very sooty, and you do a lot of cruising you may be better off fitting a hi-flow air filter and a cool air intake
It dosn't have to be an expensive pod, just a panel type filter is enough, along with an extra air supply plumbed into the snorkel to supplement the existing air intake
The main thing to remember is that Magnas have a very different way of measuring air intake compared to almost all other cars, and if you can get it right you will have a throttle response better than most other cars
Cheers, Barry

ive done some research and my model magna doesnt actually have a sports exhaust installed. that is in the tj i think. i always seem to get the last of something before they make it better :P

What about TF sports?
What sort of exhaust does it have?
Is it the same as the other TF models?
