hi guys,

i was looking at my intake today and as i was putting it back together, when two of the bolts from the adaptor brushed against the honeycomb on the intake, consequently damaging it. is it necasarry to replace it, what effects will this have and if it needs replacing, where should i get one from?

thanks mike

as far as i know, the honeycomb over the MAF sensor helps stabilise the airflow. If it is badly damaged, you may find it causes your engine to run rough.

get some thin nose pliers and see if you can straighten them first

Yep just straighten them gently and it should be all good.

i got them back open in most of them but some of them broke of and are bent sideways so i think i might get a new one, and due to the vibration of the engine, the pod had recieved some damage to its mesh, tried fixing it but that didnt work, so i moved it over, now theres no rubbing, but it could be to late.
