Hey all,

Just had an idea that was built from EZ Boy's suggestion for how to help cool down the water in my intercooler system.

For those that have seen pics of my engine bay.. one of the hoses goes across the top of the engine underneat the engine cover. which I guess is where alot of the heat would be being transfered..

I'm wondering if I can put a sheet of heat shield between the engine and this hose? would that be worse for the engine by trapping the heat??

Also can this stuff be painted?

Even shielded wouldnt the air just raise to the top and get trapped heating the pipes anyways?

I think venting the bonnet evo or GTR z-tune style would be best for cooling it down... The vents are in the perfect spot...

Yes it can. Dulux do a powder coat intended for just such high heat applications. Many colours available. I used Belmont Powder Coaters in WA to do my rockers covers a few weeks ago. Slowwww to deal with but outstanding and cost effective result. Oh, and all they do is car parts, so they know what they are doing.
