Different brackets I believe, you may be able to get them to fit if you have the right bracket, but not sure.

drivers side is cracked glass looks **** and does not work
Well, you *could* switch the lens by prying them both off carefully with assistance of a heat gun to warm up the glue...

same shape front glass and different backing on the fog lights??

AFAIK the only difference is the bracket holding them in, but as I said, you'd have to ask somebody who has done it... Unfortunantly I don't know of anybody.

If you have brackets etc on the light with the cracked lens, you should be able to transfer them to a replacement light from a different series. The black moulded light housing seems consistent, but they bolt a varying array of brackets and knobs etc to suit the front bar or mounting system of various models/series.
A while back, the Mitsi Clearance Centre had perspex covers for the Fogs, going for $20- but not sure if any left in-stock now.
One Foggie was slightly cracked on one of my cars, so I got the "Lightskinz" thick vinyl style lamp-protector, and used it for protection and waterproofing of the lamp. Seems to have worked Ok for a yr or so - teh edges of the glass lens curve away a bit, so its hard to get a really "clean" adhered edge of the sticky Lightskinz, but its stayed put and does the job. Splattered grasshoppers hide the tiny crack anyway!!!
