Ok, think 9pm easter thursday. Our convoy realized we made a wrong turn on the highway, so we go to do a U-turn. The magna pulls it's trailer across the highway, and when it's completely in the middle of the freeway it stalls (note: the magna is auto). Luckily being a ****ty magna, it stalls all the time, and I know to get it going again you have to shift into park, then start it. Unfortunately, all the lights go out in the magna when you turn the key, leaving a car parked in the middle of the highway with a trailer and no lights. It scared the **** out me and my mates (if I was there 5 seconds longer I would of had another car wrap itself around the trailer).

When I take it to the mechanic for a service, it doesn't stall, so he has no way of knowing what's up. I am seriously scared about this problem, and would appreciate something to tell my mechanic to help him fix it.

Ok first get the T Body properly cleaned, not just sprayed to look noce, have the TPS position checked and the ISC checked for operation.

After this is done, disconnect the battery for at lease 30 mins, then start the car and leave it idle for another 20 mins, DO NOT REV IT DURING THIS TIME.

The above is the most common cause of stalling issues.

As for no power, this is another unrelated problem, may be a connection to the battery or a loose fusable link.

Try a car that would stall every time you had to stop suddenly, and a worn starter motor...

I'm still surprised that you even can start up your yellow wind-up toy golf that you call car :doubt: :doubt: :doubt:

I can top that. had a problem at one point a few years ago whereby you drop the clutch and the car stalls... real handy. not just a semi stall but a complete "i'm dead" kind of stall.. fun when your going round a roundabout and your power steering conksout :)

A few little things that contribute to stalling.
You mentioned that you were about to chuck a u turn:
Power steering at full lock will sap power, also having the aircon on will do the same. If your car is an automatic and in gear it also drops the rpm a little. All of this at the same time will make a big difference when your car is idling and if it misses on just 1 cylinder it might stall the engine. It does it on my TR.
When I leave work and do my u turn I will actually hold the brake with my left foot and keep a tiny bit of throttle on with my right just in case. But then again I have no fast idle motor but even when the engine is warm the rpm a QUITE low. F#ck Ive had a close call before.
Anywho hope this helps. You should see if you can purpously stall your car somewhere by having a/c on and full lock in gear then youll know. Maybe bump up the idle a bit if it happens if you want. I did.

Hitchcock missed this screenplay with the car that stalls
