Not sure on the air con, but I imagine it would be fairly easy if you had all the parts... As for climate, forget about that :P Big job...

To find a 3rd gen that has climate control already is the short answer, was covered a few days back, it's too hard and expensive to do.

'Bout ten years ago it cost $1100 to have aircon retrofitted to a holden gemini. New install.

From the top of my head you'd need the control panel, the temp sensors, motors to move the vents and I think there's a control module for it as well?

 i'm suprised your TS has no aircon. my '92 TR elite has climate control, and my old TR exec had aircon. I've had a real good look around under the dash in both, i can tell you right now that it would be a lot of work to retrofit the whole climate control system.

How much work have you done to the car already? it might be easier and work out better if you buy a verada.
i bought my TR elite for $300 with a blown engine and put another engine in it (80,000km 4cyl for $700 inc. freight)
So at the end of the day $1000 isn't bad for climate control, electric windows/boot release, etc. :D

Mate, a very few TR GLX govt cars had no aircon but by the time TS came out it was standard

Are you 100% it is not fitted and just not working

Take a snap of your dash and post it up, will be interested to see what is there

i just had a look to make sure , the switch slot is exactly that just a slot , no wires are going to it at all. also there would be a air con fuse in the fuse compartment yes? if so mine doesnt have one. its not so much for me i want it more for my daughter i hate being limited to the house when its 30 plus outside, also as for buying a verada i think il pass lol i love my 5 speed manual , im just after a rough price to have it fitted by someone in the know prob with them supplyin the parts unless i can hunt down everything needed or if its a hard job to do myself

I guess you can try and hit up some hot rod shops that sell the "vintage air" systems that are installed into older cars and rods, from memory they're pretty much 2 or 3 bits. Might be expensive however.

wouldnt i just be able to take out all air con componets from a ts/tr with aircon and use that to install into my car (prob need a new belt and stuff ?) i cant imagine there would be too much parts most would be hoses and stuff yes?

It's not really expensive, just very time consuming and hard to do... IIRC you need:

- Climate screen/computer
- Motors to drive the vents
- Temprature sensors
- Custom wiring for vent motors
- Custom wiring harness for climate computer

iv been qouted around the $500 mark to have aircon fully fitted but the prob is he said il need EVERY little bit including all wires ect ect somehow i see this to be a problem he also said if things are missing even little things then the $500 will jump very quick

You will need
Lines
Receiver dryer
Condensor
Under Dash box
Compressor
Belt
Wiring

If you have not got the wiring in your car, then you are also in the poo as the wiring for the aircon is part of the factor harness

Would be far cheaper to get a bomb off fleabay, grab out what you need, wreck the rest and you may make a few bucks back

Really depends on how handy you are on cars

i think i may use this idea, cant hurt to have some spares and if im really lucky il find a white one and replace my 2 front doors n bonnet , i still think il get the aircon peepz to fit it thou $500 is nothing compared to icy cold aircon

as for buying a verada i think il pass lol i love my 5 speed manual

if that's the case, you already have all the parts you need to convert a verada to manual :D
the elite was auto only as well, wasn't too hard to do the manual conversion.

either way, it's up to you. personally though, i'd just wind the windows down (that's what i do, even though i have climate control  )
