The car only has 77,800 kms on it, its silver and is immaculate, does this sound like a good deal anyone?

I'd try and knock him down a bit more, maybe $10k with trade. If you go in there ready to buy I think you've got a good chance. Sounds nice!

In the present market you may get him down to $10k changeover but I'd say it'lll end up closer to $11k.

I recently picked up a KJ AWD with leather, 90,000ks for $10,750 in NSW, so $13k - $14k seems reasonable considering yours has better Km's plus sunroof, black leather plus GPS.

Buy it. :D

I think $3k for any 2nd gen trade in is pretty good. Considering I was only offered 1500 for an Elite nearly 2 years ago.

Exact same car as mine and I have only 76,000klms, without doubt the best car I have ever owned I say grab it as you wont regret it.

Forget that its a GTVI for a min, look at the basics first, log books, condition of motor, steering, suspension, creaks or rattles, also the factory gps is craphouse i had one in the TH for about 10min then took it out, cant get maps for it anymore and they are about 5 years out of date

Couldnt agree more about the GPS! Someone did actually manage a map update on this forum. What bugs me is the positioning and how you have to get your eyes off the road and re-focus them on the gps to actually use it!!


The car sounds great but yeah, have a look at it again, considering it as a car that you want trouble-free motoring out of, not style, cool and luxury all the way to the mechanics every week.

Always negotiate, theres no bottom price. Good Luck :)

Yep i would offer him 8500 after trade and see what he says, if he says no prepare to walk away, he will come back with a better offer.

the reason they are giving you "a good deal" with your trade is because their selling price is inflated to cover it.. it's just one of the tactics that dealers use. i'd be getting them to knock at least $3k off their price spesh given the current market. and of course he's pushy, he's a car salesman, that's how they make their living :)

yeah.. doesnt have a sunroof though.. and higher kays then the one this guy is talking about. plus the dealership had to have the front and back bumpers resprayed due to a small bingle.. but all good apart from that.

I'm thinking about it, i wanna blackmail him, he scribbled down on a sheet of paper the price of the car, then how much they were gonna give me for the trade in, and weekly repayments, but when i got home i turned over the sheet of paper and got the laugh of the day.

Yeah its at Cullen Mitsubishi, its at the front of the yard behind the white fence if you wanna have a look at it, its in great condition,i test drove it like 5 mins after i saw you at the lights up the road the other day, he hasn't rang me about buying the car yet, maybe realised ive got his email and is too embarrased now:badgrin:
