Hey, I've just got some 16 x 6 verada wheels to replace the 15 x 6 alloys on my TL LS, the new tyres are 215/60 R16, replacing 205/65 R15. The new wheels look larger in circumference, should there be any difference or could it be that the new wheels have new tyres and the old were worn? Sorry for the silly question.
Cheers, Grant.

They look bigger but the circumference is the same.
I've got 19's and the circumference is 2% out from the 16's my car originally came with.
Theres nothing wrong

going by that your new wheels are 1.3% too fast
meaning when your speedo reads 100k's your actually doing 98.7k's

Which the average speedo is out by 3km anyways so you will theoretically be doing 95.7k's at least you wont get caught speeding

Thanks for the replies!!!
Took the new wheels for their first spin today, had the gps running to get an idea of my speedo accuracy. Turns out it has made it more accurate, as in 100kmh on my speedo is now exactly 100kmh, where it it used to be 105kmh on the speedo to actually be traveling at 100kmh.
Interestingly though, is that my new wheels with a 55 profile are the same size as my old wheels. Is there some reason that Veradas, and Sports models are spec with slightly larger wheels and are their speedos calibrated to accommodate this?

Perhaps the Verada and sports / AWD models cost more and people expected better quality? Also the 205/65/15 is very "fleet" orientated (read aka commodore camry size tyre). Just my 2c worth :) Enjoy the better ride :)

I've got 215/60R16s from factory and at an indicated 100kmh GPS says 99.
