Hey guys,
I'll be FG the inside of my spare 19" rim to make an enclosure for my 12" sub, I'm looking at buying 1ltr tub FG kit and would like to know if this will be enough.
It will be set up so when I need the spare I can lift the sub out to gain access.
Here is a pic of the inside of the rim;

I know I'll lose a bit of boot height but I'll compensate that by having little storage areas.
When you have two kids, and one is still in a pram you need as much space a possible.

You'll need WAY more than that... I used a litre of resin on a reasonably small sub box that didn't need to be too stable, you'll need like 3 minimum, and 2 or so sq metres or more of fibreglass mat. Have fun...

Good luck with it anyway, always hated the idea of the sub cone facing up into the boot so **** can end up on top of it, maybe you should invest in a grille of some sort?

Or maybe recess it half an inch into the false floor and have a flush mount grille with some form of mesh.
Either way It'll be a good idea to make use of room otherwise not used for anything!

Yeah, got a grill for it, not many do a wheel well install, they look stealth and still have good boot space.

I like that idea mate, don't like losing my boot space to a big sub box.
I'm trying to get a setup that sounds good without a sub first, if im still unhappy i might try your idea.

Have you worked out the remaining volume of the enclosure once you've put the subwoofer magnet and cone recess into it? You really don't want to run a low volume enclosure with a Type R lol

I'm going to start working on exactly the same thing for exactly the same reason.
My box for my 10" sub isn't really that bad though, can still fit the mountain buggy and groceries.
My plan is to have the sub recessed so it sits below the false floor, and just have covers for it, same with the amp. take the covers off when u want to show them.
I would do the panels like how this amp is done.
