Hi,My TW VRX has what i would call "wind" noise from around th B pillar when going over about 70 KMPH,it is right near my ear and seems to come from either the rear edge of the drivers window or from where the door seals up against the b pillar itself on the rubber seperator that is inbetween the front and rear windows, anyone had this issue or know any fixes?,might have to get a new seal under warranty and see if it helps

thanks
Steve

could be the seals
but i've read before somewhere that it could also be from the black triangle bits on the door
they come loose and the gaps big enough to make the noise

i have wind noise coming from my side mirrors that i got from the mitsi clearance house, the only reason it does that is because the mirrors have to be pulled all the way out to see anything other than the car, bit weird if u ask me.

I have a similar sort of noise especially after I put the window up while after the door is shut (and in motion). I have used a little talcum powder on the rubber seals, it has made a bit of a difference. The rubber all looks ok and in place.

Isn't that the A-pillar?

I have a slight bit of wind noise above about 80kph from just above the tweeters, I eliminated 90% of it by sticking a thin strip of foam on the rubbers, seems to seal it better.

I have a slight bit of wind noise from the passenger side A-pillar, seal is pushed in a bit, quite annoying... Only bothers the passenger though (me at the moment) other then that I don't get any problems till 180+km/h

i had the same noise coming from my windows all you gota do is adjust them so the tops of the windows slightly lean in a bit more forming a tighter seal. since then they've been fine

Cheers boys for the suggestions, the tweeter area has no noise whatsoever, but seems to be from either the window not sealing along its edge or the door not sealing at the very back edge of the door trim area near your shoulder, might try some tape and see if i can pin point it better!

It may sound like it's coming from there, but it's not. It's coming from near the A pillar where the black plastic triangle is.

This what I meant :P

Noise is coming from between the door and the A pillar

My TL VRX AWD occassionally has noise coming from the centre pillar/window area. Usually just putting the window down a bit and then back up is enought to reseat the seal and stop the noise. I have seen another member's car where the window was poking out proud of the seal (about 5mm), so I suspect a loose window guide channel in that case.

Check that your seals are in good order, not bent backwards or torn, and that the window guide channel is not loose.

It will most likely be how the pillarless windows rest agaisnt the seals, and as previously mentioned, these can be adjusted (but you need to pull the door apart to do so). I currently have this very problem where the window sits against the first seal (making it somewhat waterproof), but not the second. An easy way to check is to see whether you can slide a business card in between the window and the seal, refer to image below

I've had another thought on this. I didn't like the way the small triangles of black plastic in the corners of the front door windows didn't seat properly against the rubber, so I took them off and carefully filed down the mounting bosses to bring them closer to the rubber. Don't file too much off them or you'll be able to see a dimple in the plastic when you tighten them up again. This might reduce the exposed lip of the plastic and, hence, the wind noise.

When you said B Pillar in your original post, well in my TH....sometimes my rear window does quite line up and fit snug in the window frame....i just put it alllll the way down, and back up again. Sometimes it just comes out, but yeah, just letting ya know, probabaly not the problem but eh.
