What can I do to make the black plastric trim behind the back doors and elsewhere look better, not so dull?

Meguiars make a thing called Trim Detailer. Comes in a small plastic bottle and is designed for plastic trims. The stuff's brilliant. Puts a nice sheen on the plastic without making it glossy. Sticks nicely in the rain. Been using this for 2 years now without a prob. Also use it on the plastic coated metal strip that runs at the base of the rear screen, the interior air intake plenum grilles (surround the wipers), the black plastic sections of the rear view mirrors (where there isn't paint) and all hard plastic in the engine bay (fan shroud, fuse box, radioator header tank, washer bottle etc etc).

Mothers Back to Black. I bought some the other week and tried it on my dad's VE Commodore - the plastics on it are fading worse than my car  A bit difficult to apply, but it makes the plastics look like new again. I used to use Meguiars Gold Class Trim Detailer, but I was never happy with it because it ran like a mofo as soon as water hit it. It's raining today so we'll see how the Back to Black copes. The finish is also nicer with the Back to Black than the Gold Class too (the GC never seemed to remove all of the fading), plus it also removes leftover wax from your plastics.
