View Full Version : Reso.?
Hay all
I replaced my catback piping with 2.5" piping and removed my muffler just after the catalitic converter. and i got a full stainless stell zetti muffler on the end. Well it sounds good at certain revs. But when u rev it hard or just rev it will in netural definatly got a tiny sound witch dosent sound good. And when warming up or half warm really sounds tinny. What type and size reso will i need to get rid of this sound and keep it well try keep it as loud as it is now.?
Thanks Kurt

i would suggest a 'straight' through round muffler.. it's not really going to take much sound or flow out of the system, but will take some of the buzz and drone out.. the one that comes in the redback systems is 2.5" in and out, 6-7inches dia, and about 16 inches long.. straight through.. not offset.. it may quieten it a little but not a great deal..
a normal 'hot dog resi' won't really do much.. perhaps if it was a louvered type, not just a perferated type..

I would use the stock one but there not 2.5'' is there anything like exactly the same as stock one but 2.5''?
May try a stock VE commodore one. They may be bigger. Or any other car with slightly bigger engine.
