Hi All.
I know this has probably been covered a thousand times and i have searched the threads but cant find anything that applies. Maybe i am blind. I need to remove the auto knob from my Tippy and cannot find how to do it. I have looked for a screw on the front but there isnt one. I have tried to unscrew it but it wont happen. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP BEFORE I GO INSANE.

the top button comes off to reveal a screw.
the button is held in by a tab on either side. it will come off with gentle persuasion. get a flat screw driver, insert it at the rear of the button and twist.
cheers,

Be careful taking the button out, the tabs that hold it in are pretty frail, I broke one when I removed the shifter on my Verada, and the one on my sisters Magna was broken when she got it.
If you do try and fail a blob of blutac holds it on pretty well :D

Remove the top button with 2 fine small screw drivers from the left and right side of the top button.
When you do this, there will be a spring loaded plastic stick, remove the spring with the rubber ring attatched to it.
You will then need a small but long 12mm socket to get to the 12mm bolt, when this is removed, bob's ya uncle but if you want the actual gear selector panel off, will have to remove most of the mid console to do so,very easy if you have a good look.
Good luck mate!

AFAIK TE/TF gear selectors are held on using a screw on the front of the knob. TH onwards use the nut under the button so simple answer is no.
However the stalk that the knob attaches to is a removable part so I guess if you get a TH/TJ knob, get a TH/TJ stalk and you should be good to go....
