Gday guys, run into a bit of trouble installing an aftermarket pioneer h/u into the GF's camry. Which power wires are which? Can ayone help me out?

It's an 05 Camry Altise 2.4 Auto.

If you need to ask that question i really dont think you should be the one installing it..:)

Yellow is usually constant constant (use test light when cars off), red is usually accessories (Check with test light when car is on).

Yann - are you using a test light or multimeter? do you have any wiring diagram for the car at all?

i had to install my mates stereo in his hilux, i can tell you right now im not doing another toyota again!

Theres yellow, red and black on a separate smaller plug. None of them do anything on the test light. I thought, wow, this should be a piece of cake seeing how easily the stock bracket aligned to the aftermarket. I was wrong.

but mate sure that everything lines up (wires are the same on the diagram, also the harness are the same)
yeah in the newer toyotas there are two harness's
theres a small one with 4 wires on it, these are the rear speakers
if unsure grab a AA battery and put a wire on each end, should have enough volts to get the speaker to make a small pop sound, dont worry your speakers will be fine done this heaps of times ;)
i'll have another look as this wiring diagram is different to the one i found

Also if you find the 12V, and are cluey on what are speaker wires, with a piece of jumper wire, put one into the 12v end, and with the other speaker wire, earth it, it'll crackle and you'll find out what speaker wire does what speaker.

Installdr only has 1995-2000 Camry colour codes.

You can always just get an auropro harness for like $15 and all the colour transfers are done for you :D

Huge thanks to all the guys who suggested the wiring colours. Vlad hit the nail on the head and all works fine now. Cheers guys. PS; I looked for an autopro harness to no avail.
