My Ralliart is de-winged, so I managed to source a high mount LED brake light. I have had to glue it three times now.
Twice with araldite, and once with that new rubbish UHU super glue.

niquid nails has better resistance to vibrations, its pretty strong, give that ago

i voted butter :P

but i think kitten juice would be much better

but in all seriousness, what surface are you trying to glue it to?

Use windscreen (RV mirror) glue... Thats where the high-mount taillight is sticking to!

I'm interested to know what's the best stuff for this job also. Mine fell off in the heat a couple of months ago. Araldite and Liquid nails fails to hold it back up there for more than a day or two. :doubt:

See above, Rear-vision mirror glue. Also clean the surface well (Metho rub down or something)

Any idea how long it takes to set?

I'd say do the clips only, and leave it overnight...

One word... SIKAFLEX!! :D actually, no, Sikaflex is too much messing around for what you want. Just get yourself a high grab double sided tape, like is used for sticking trims to cars.

Proper contct adhesive in a tin works great for stuff like that...... its probably half way between liquid nails and araldite..... not as brittle as araldite but not quite as gluggy and soft as liquid nails

That sounds logical. Where from? Auto store?

They are known to fall off for no apparent reason.

When I was a Mitsi mechanic we used araldite. seemed ok...

but mine keeps falling. maybe i'm hopeless.

if your gluing to glass, plain glazing silicone would crap all over the above mentioned, with the exception of proper rear view mirror glue i expect. otherwise Megapoxy would spoon them too. its a 2 part adhesive like araldite, with high vibration resistant properties. its generally the adhesive of choice for a lot of ship construction.

Megapoxy is also used in Aviation, many parts of commercial airliners are bonded using this form of resin, including the wing. Must be highly vibration resistant.

honestly, silaflex building silicon sealant, i used it to glue my rubber panel protecters on a isuzu trooper i had, even off road with mud and water it never moved. ive used it to fix allsorts of stuff thst needed a flexible but strong bond. my engine had been removed before i got the car and it had a small dent on the front rocker cover on the oil fill hole, it would leak oil. the silaflex made a new lip and is holding still now, no leaks. only prob is it is very hard to get whatever you stick back off again, and it takes bout six hours to get a decent bond, twentyfour hours to cure.

SIKAFLEX!!!! X3

If it's a wing... use sikaflex... it's what the stuff was designed for...

Windscreen mirror glue is the wrong thing to use too as it will absorb moisture and let go.

Superglue absorbs moisture and peels off so do most forms of epoxy...

(The stuff the public buys anyway) aircraft stuff is very expensive and very hard to get....
Trust me... you can't get it at supercheap auto.

Araldite is the same a epoxy....
Liquid nails is mean't for porous surfaces...not painted surfaces on cars!!

Get a tube of sikaflex.. clean everything using isopropyl alcohol and stick that thing down... it won't come off !!!

id been inclinded to say if you want to clue to glass the glass glue will kill it. Araldite has always been the best for general use i have found. Liquid nails i for the construction game. :)

No your right.

Use Sikaflex. i've used it on mine and about 3 customers cars now and have never had a problem since.

You need a silicone of some sort. sikaflex is the best.

go to a windscreen company and ask them to glue it on for you or purchase some glue from them :)
