PAC SWI PS Steering Wheel Controls Made Easy.
This Walktrough was for a eaier version of the PAC to work with a Pioneer Deck. hnw vrsion is a bi faster than the old version,I am not sre of any wiring differences.
I Just fitted this unit today and it works as per factory with a Pioneer and Sony H/U.
It Cost about 100.00 Express Posted from the U.S.
It's all hidden, and works by wire controls. The signal is processed and passed on to the H/U with what I estimate as a couple of tenths of a second delay. i.e. before a quick press on the vol down would bring it down a notch, now it just takes a squidge longer, but it still possible to bring down the vlolume in single increments.
I can still folder skip on USB and CD and track skip. But I only have track skip on the ipod, due to the ipod menu interface.
Radio Functions include preset skip and seek. The right middle button still navigates the source.
I can live with that.:D
It involves connecting the following wires.
PAC - CAR
Red to Accessory
Black to Earth
White to Green with Orange trace.
Green with black trace to Chassis Earth.
Cut and insulate the other Wires But do not cut the Looped wires.
After that though it seems complicated, is fairly straight forward.
Hold in program button and turn key to Accs, and release button.
Then press the program button 8 times and the unit will blink 8 times back at you to confirm eighth program.
Turn key to off.
All these next actions need to be done with 7 seconds of the last.
Turn key on, press program button once to initiate learning sequence.
1 Volume Up .Right Top
2 Volume Down .Right Bottom
3 Mute .Press Program on PAC to skip
4 Track Up/ Seek Up . Left Up
5 Track Down/ Seek Down .Left Down
6 Source .Right Middle
7 Preset Up/ Disc Up .Left Middle.
8 Preset Down/ Disc Down .Press Program on PAC to skip
9 Band .Press Program on PAC to skip
Plug in and Test.
The Instuctions for the 380 are the same as the 06 Galant on the PAC Website and in the documention packaged.
These are made for other units but the Sequence is similar just the Press for programs and connected wires are different.
