View Full Version : KYB's and King Lows fitted
VERY happy chappy! Much less bounce, feel less imperfections in the road (read: potholes in sydney) and finally have some decent feedback through the wheel again. It feels very stiff but compliant. Hopefully pics on the weekend, the installer said it has only dropped about 15-20mm so far from stock. Once it starts to settle it should drop another 20mm right?

Glad your enjoying it.
Ive got the same combo on my KL, still a compliant ride and is flatter around corners.
I travelled to Melbourne and back and never got sore. Had a full load of gear that I took and didn't bottom out.
They should have come out with KYB's standard instead of the Monroes.

should drop another 10-20mm once full settled
about acouple of weeks
the front left spring was a joke, it was barely a 'spring' anymore lol front left shock was also deaded. Must have sprung a leak. Glad to be alive to be honest.
Also the sway bar was put up to max. He had to take the whole sway bar off since heasmans had got some of the bolts the wrong way round.
Would you be able to say how much fitted? Interested in new shocks/springs in the next few months.
Regards, Tony

Yep, when I changed mine the left rear shock, the piston retracted into the shock. And this was in a car that was 70000k old when they got done.

I would also be interested in total cost as my shocks are due and would like this combo.
Well Phillcom Rally (sponsor of this website) Did the KYB Shocks and King Low springs for $650 delivered. Highly recommended. Got them installed at a place called Robs Specialised Steering in Taren Point, NSW. He knows his stuff and has done a stellar job on my car. He charged me $300 installation, including tightening up the sway bar, and a wheel alignment.

how do you adjust the sway bar??
If you have an adjustable swaybar, you move the linkage one notch back, it tightens up the bar's effect across the control arms

nice mate good to here that for once your car is going good again, cant wait to see it finally lowered
hows it handle with the highest setting on the swaybar? need to get myself one again
The roads are horrible tonight so I only drove it home. Hopefully I will get a good drive out of it tomorrow. So far, it feels very good with the bar on highest.

Yeah, it seems to be settling nicely, mechanic said it should be a 30 - 40mm drop all up. Drives heaps nicer as well now with the new shocks, doesn't fee as "bouncy" over bumps.
Send us a pic of the car. But king lows wernt low enough on my bros magna
I will get pics when the weather improves. I don't really care what it looks like as long as it handles better
Its pretty much settled now. very happy with it!
