Howdy all!
just wondering, from the gurus of car audio here, I want to swap from my kenwood 6x9's and 6' 3-way fronts to Jaycar response 6x9's and response 6' splits.
They're amped using a JVC 600W 4-ch amp.
Thoughts?
Jaycar 6x9's are $129 nd the 6' splits are $80. Anything ele in that price range?

models? specs?
Honestly, in that price range there probably isn't going to be a vast difference with the speakers you choose. Though it'd be worth finding your favourite CD going in to Jaycar and have a listen to them, then have a look around JB etc. and check out what they have on offer in the same price, you might find something you like better.

here are the links to the products im looking at from jaycar. I'm in no way a audio freak but I like a clear sounding music with decent bass. I already have my bass, I'm loving my two Kenwood 12' 1000W subs for bass, but just wanting a little more clarity from my speakers at this point.

Well i'd recommend spending less on the rears and more on the front if you can. As that is what you'll be hearing most of - at the moment you've got $80 for front and $130 for rear, at the very least i'd switch that around, however for best results i'd keep your current 6x9's and invest $210 in to your fronts

I have some Jaycar splits in the TW, and bang for buck, they are crytal, but I have the dearer splits. The more I hear other speakers the more I like my jaycars, I reckon its true what they say, just as good as a system twice the price....
But I am lucky, I got the 300 dollar splits for $75 ex demo...:P

I wouldn't bother with the rears at all. I'm running Alpine SPR17LS splits up front powered by a 2x100wRMS Jaycar amp, and a Alpine SWR-1221D sub powered by a Jaycar 2x150wRMS amp (bridged to 1x500wRMS). Stock rear speakers are just there for some volume from the back.

I ran a Jaycar Venom 12" sub in my 1st car (86 Elite) for a good year, best value for money, it was a nice clean tone, did exactly what I wanted it to do.

Yeah I'll probably spend a bit more on splits then hey. I'm up possibly for four splits instead of two. Maybe ditch the 6x9's altogether as my subs do make quite a bit of bass...

As if, with my 1337 parcel shelf I made in there 6x9's sound wicked :P
those jaycars are great speakers for the money, my mate has some of the 6x9's and they are pretty awesome.
I'm more a surround sound person.
so IMO if you have a 4 channel amp, use it all.

I've heard the Jaycar repsonse stuff does very well against mid range splits, im looking at getting some splits and after listening to some $300 rockford ones i wasnt impressed so i think i'll go the Jaycar kevlar splitsfor about $130 i think.

Yeah you would need to listen to some Hertz / Boston / MB / Vibe etc for around $300 to be impressed.
At the end of the day if you are happy with how they sound, get them. Just make sure you put them in the best environment you can - i.e. sealed doors, mdf baffles, diffusers, deadening etc.
