nah,its a dot 4,if you cant get the PBR,grab a bottle of Catrol response super Dot 4 or the new Penrite sinn stuff, all very good gear for great prices!

PBR Gold is DOT 4.

You could use DOT 5 in a clutch system, but you'd have to flush it completely with alcohol to remove all traces of DOT 4, as DOT 5 is a silicon based fluid and not compatible with polythylene glycol based (DOT 4 and 3).

Castrol super DOT 4 brake fluid will do the job nicely.

not with fluid.. a pressure plate with higher clamping load will give you a firmer pedal

Clutch fluid uses the same resevoir as the brake fluid mate. That's probably why.

I have a seperate clutch fluid reservoir to the brake fluid reservoir. I thought all 3rd Gens were like that?

For the love of god dont use the silver bottle, use the red in castrol.

Unless you want to be changing the lines and slave/master in 6 months.

yes mohit they are seperate but use the same fluid.

why is that fella?

One is Mineral (red) one is polythylene glycol (silver bottle)

verada is right if you wish to use the flashy silver stuff (doesnt make any difference in a clutch btw) need to flush out the system with alcohol before you redo the system.

Umm not it doesn't

I beleive it is actually part of the ADR these days as on some older cars the systems that shared reservoirs had issues when the clutch slave dies, lost all fluid and no brakes

The clutch fluid reservoir is mounted on top of the fire wall in a small container completely separate from the brakes

Sorry guys, they use the same fluid is what I meant.

Can't remember what colour the bottle was, I think it's the silver one. Used it for a few years in the Ralliart and year and a half now in the EVO.
