Ok i made myself a letterbox grille, own a white TH. Thinking of painting it black and getting some tinted headlight covers, because the white keeps cracking and looks ugly - cbf'd fixing it atm.

Yes or no?

TJ badges, how much from mitsu? just after the MAGNA ones. One more thing, how much around abouts will it cost to colour code my skirts and door mouldings? Or does anyone know how much a set of TL body mouldings would cost?

Black eyelids would work well, the lines continue from the grille, not the bonnet. Though you're gonna need paras to pull it off.

Just sprayed the grille black, have to say, just by itself, it looks 10x better in black.

Currently trying to source some para's and headlight covers.

Also, anybody know the dimensions of the mitsu badge? because the ones on ebay there si like 4 diff sizes and i dunno which one is which!

dont do the headlight covers, do the eyelids. definately!!!

and make sure you put a chrome diamond in the middle of the letterbox.. nothing better than chrome mail :P

I bet you wont be bothered to keep swapping the headlight covers over each night...

I was going to say keep it white but I was too late lol... now you will have to change something else on the car to compliment it... like rims etc... sorry it is a requirement.

Haha its ok, i'm driving grille-less atm because it cracked last night :(

so i'll fix it on the weekend and decide what i want to do - and yeah i do agree about me not being bothered, my grill has been in primer for 6 months haha.

mining my own thread because there isnt really a need for a new one.

but i just recieved a grille from MR Woody, the paint wasnt the best (i knew obv), so i gave her a good sand and painted it black...anyway.

i want to paint my eyelids, and this grille the same colour as my car, i have a 00TH, i believe my colour is Mawson white, as paris white is a TJ colour is it not?>

Do i take it to a shop and tell them to paint it Mawson white, or can i get the colour from a shop or like what do i do, im pretty nooby lol

Your paint code is on a plaque on the firewall, head down to your localist AutoBarn/Repco/Supercheap that mixes paints and tell them to colour match in a pressure pack. I know AutoBarn Nth QLD cans are about $30 a pop.

Then.......Ahhhh......Do a bit of spraypainting and ****, i usually just spray and hope for the best.

This pressure pack you speak of, same as 2pak?

also does this need a clear coat?

Nope, Its arcrylic.
Working at a panel shop the last few weeks has taught me this...
If you can prep the items REALLY good where all they need to do is basically prime it, sand it back and spray it, you'll save alot of money.

They are only minor things so i'd give acrylic a shot. Just BE PATIENT!!! and they should turn out pretty good.

As Tuffy said its an enamel/acrylic paint, pressure pack just means "Spray Can" to those in the know.

And Yes you do need to clear coat it, and as Tuffy said, be patient, the more time spent on Prep and Clear Coat will have a huge impact on the Look of the Final Product.
