Firstly I do hope this is in the right section.

Hi there, i recently picked up a highway cruiser being a KR Verada.

I intend to put a lot of highway K's on it and most of the time at night.

The left hand side front lens is cracked, but the light still works, albeit slightly dimmer than the right one.

What's the best go with regard to lights, replace with a new bulb?

Get HID's from eBay or elsewhere?

Thanks for your consideration.

Krazy KR

is it a big crack or a small one thats not really noticable???

if its a big crack, u could either get a new headlight from the wreckers or just the lense, depends if u want to fiddle around...

if its small, then maybe just replace the bulb... maybe change both sides too

HID's suck.
I would go to the wreckers and hunt down another set of headlights. If you keep your eyes out you will eventually find a wrecked car that has had a recent front end repair and would of had a new headlight fitted = score.

being a glass lens I would try a set of 100w/90 globes with upgraded wiring kit and possibly also install some driving lights mate.

BTW being a KR, Your parkers are in the bumper, if you buy anything else but a KR you will need to splice the wiring to the headlights as normal magna headlights have a parker in the lens

+1

Look at some of the Rally 5000's or there abouts, some of the best lights available.

HID kits are for little ricer boys with there lowered cars and loud exhausts.

If you still want "HID's" look at a proper projector kit (from a top end car Beemer merc etc) As they are a proper unit.

Im easily swayed by your opinions fellahs

I will look into these Rally 5000's, who makes them and where can i buy them?

I will look into installing some driving lights TUFFTR, thanks for your input it's been well received.

I'll also go hunt for some new lights which hopefully don't have as many K's on them as my car does.

Oh, it's a fairly big stone chip. Was sitting behind a semi, an overtaking lane opened up, i kicked it back and heard a "ting" and then went ... "Oh ****" .. nice story hansel.

There's some Rallye 4000's on eBay, dunno what these 5000's are though.

The Spotlights are $400-$550. The "HID Conversion kit" is circa $200.

Whilst i agree they would be awesome, i am not going to fit spotties to the car, nor do i do THAT much driving with my high-beams on as on the Bruce highway you're always flicking between low/high for oncoming vehicles.

So i reckon im going to try and scavenge a new(ish) set of lights and chuck some nice bulbs in them. 90w/100 you say.

Not those huge roo lights, I only meant like a small set of rectangular lights from super cheap, probs $40 or so.
100/90's with upgraded wiring (off relays) to your low and high beams

If the lights are from a Magna with the parkers, simply leave the parkers not connected or use the blanking plug from your original light, this is what Mits did.

The EI had the same lights as the Magan, the XI had a little chrome trim between the high and low beam internally to make it look a little tidier. Was really a waste of space
