Hey, as some know from a previous thread, i found out my Diamante, which has done 243,000 ks, had a second hand engine put in at 213,000. this was done at a dealership. i was lucky as it was done by the dealer after been used as a trade in. the original engine had a chronic overheating problem. anyway they told me ks on the engine were about 80,000 - 100,000 when installed. they couldnt tell me what year or model diamante the engine came from, so im hopin you guys might be able to reconise the numbers and narrow it down. im gonna try the dealer too, but gotta wait till monday. heres the numbers:
head- G7S4 FF. Block= 6G74M 041756. cheers for any info, is the "m" after the "6G74" on all blocks and we just dont quote it, or is it only on certain models? i guess im hopin it may be out of a VRX or godwilling a wrecked Ralliart lol. ya never no!!!!!

Hey Rob,
If its out of a vrx, there wont be any difference in the engine number to a normal 3.5. The only differece was a rear muffler change. Yours being a 97, it could have a later model engine with the revise cam profile.
From memory it went 147kW, then 150kW, then finally 155kW. The 163kW from the vrx and sports was simply a muffler change on the 155kw engine. The ralliart heads have a different number i think as they had the valves de-shrouded to increase turbulence into the combustion chambers.
Sorry mate, but for anymore info, your gonna gave to wait till monday.

If its a Ralliart engine/heads it will have "RAL" stamped on the heads which if your looking straight at your engine it will be stamped on the bottom right hand corner near where the engine lifting hook is. I have attached a pic of what it looks like for you and have circled the "RAL" in red.

Ya best bet is to get the engine number checked by who ever does vehicle registering in your area, they should be able to run the engine thru there database and it should come up with your vehicle id and the vehicle it was previously fitted to..
