Ya, it did look pretty rooted when you showed me... Not sure on prices, try a search?
Prices for the mounts themselves are all over, but not sure on labour...

It's as easy to replace as it looks!
3 nuts that hold it to the engine mount mount :eh: and one that goes right through. I would DIY, not worth paying someone else to do.

:stoopid: yep, very easy to replace
all you need is a long breaker bar (i used my tyre iron as my brother had my bar), tourque wrench, 14mm deep sockets, jack and chassy stands
jacked up the front of the car and just it on the chassy stands, place jack under sump with abit of wood so you dont damage the sump, jack it up alittle to take some of the pressure off the mount
remove washer bottle so you can get to the bolt that goes through the mount
loosen the two nuts and one bolt on the mount thats attached to the engine, then loosen the one that goes through the mount, you may need to jack the engine up alittle more so the bolt comes out freely
should now be able to remove all bolts then pull out the mount
make sure when replacing the mount you put the covers on the right way
then reinstall doing the opposite to uninstalling the mount, then tourque up the bolts to i think its 189nm
let down the jack slowly and then take car off the stands
replace washer bottle and your done
im pretty sure this is how its done as it was the same way i did mine :)
mounts would cost between 100-150 i think

I have been doing a clutch replacement on my gen 2. Had a look at the engine mounts. They are huge, solid rubber and there are 4 of them. All good. Now my questions are:
(1) How do you break an engine mount? Is it "driving style"?
(2) Is this a gen 3 problem only?

1) From what I know, yes driving style can "break" them
2) No....Take a look at your front engine mount in the 2nd gen. This one is more then likely the one thats gone. 99% of the time they get oil soaked and fail. just see if its split. Mine was. Easy as to replace.

2) think its all mitsu's. happened in my 94 lancer the exact same way!
