hi all,
does anyone have any experience on the nissan pathfinders? 2000 model 3.3L v6...
the old man was driving home when spark plug number 6 decided it didnt like its home so it literally 'popped out'. no thread damage as it seems it wasnt even screwed in at its lasts service (at nissan) dad came up the drive sounding like a 2 stroke mower,.
we've been having a look for the past 20 mins to find where it goes but cant find it for the life of me.
its a deep insulated ignition lead as well which doesnt help at all... hoping someone here has some knowledge or advice...
nissan will have an unhappy customer monday morning lol

any help would be fantastic, nothing is worse than a non working car

cheers! tim

Err, so you can;t find out where the plugs go?

If my understanding is correct just trace out one of the leads.

How do you know it popped out if you dont know where it is in the first place?

look on the opposite side of the engine and copy the position for the other side of the block.

on a magna maybe mate. This one is located BEHIND the inlet manifold on the REAR of the engine between the inlet manifold and the firewall. The plugs on the same side are located in the inlet manifold and the other bank is located directly into the head...

Thread on the plug may look fine but if you can not find where it goes in the thread in the head may have also been stripped by Nissan when they put it in, have see this before and is a royal pain in the ass to fix even with a helicoil

thanks to those who helped, probly should have specified that the plug was still attached to the lead and flapping about in the breeze
had to pull the grand bonnet off but we managed to get it back in, to be specific it was WELL under the inlet manifold, at a reverse angle to the rear of the motor... after many profanities, threats to nissan, so on and so forth, the job was done.
fair to say however words shall be had with nissan about their workmanship...

mal - there was no thread damage to the plug so we could only assume the head was ok, i had a feel around and looked at what was visible, gave it a go and it seemed to grab and tighten with no worries... nonetheless we were very careful... as stated, nissan will know how we feel  haha cheers mate!
