Evening People.

Looking into getting new rims and new tyres for the 380, will be upgrading to 17" Rims so bit bigger tire from the stock ones that are on it now, just wondering, As the car gets new shoes, the speedo won't be as accurate as it is (somewhat) now... Bigger tyres will mean different speed to what the car sais, Is there/Are there any places i should go to get it re-synch'd? Ie: Mitsu Dealer or say, a Dyno place...? Got no clue with this one so any help would be great

Cheers.

you shouldnt need it as 380s came stock with 17 (vrxs gts) so the speedos dont need reconfiguring

As above. My original spec 17s had Dunlop Sport 55 series profile.

Generally, when you fit bigger rims with bigger tyres, the tyres will be wider and require lower profile so that the overall diameter remains the same or within a certain percentage. Have a look here (http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp) for help in chosing the tyre size that best matches the original OD. You put the original measurements on the left and then specify the new one on the right.

As said, the overall diameter is still the same (ie yes the rims are bigger but the tyre profile gets smaller). As long as you maintain the correct tyre profile size that should match your new rim size, you won't have any problems. Furthermore, going from 16s to 17s, you definately won't have any trouble.
My car came with 16s and I changed them for 19s, with no differences felt/seen with the speedo. 380 speedos all over-read anyway (aparently Mitsubishi made them that way), ie they read a little higher than you're really doing. I checked mine with my GPS and the difference before and after 19s was about the same.
And yes, VRX models have 17s (as does GT and SX, Platinum... etc). LX+LS (at least in S1) had 16s, as does the Base Model (later called ES). Only those 20 TMRs had 19s.
