Just confirmed we have this Mitsubishi 3.0 6G72 DOHC 180kw mivec engine available for sale.
Price is $6500.00 AUD$ for the engine, manifolds, computer etc no transmission. Came standard with an auto.
The gearbox is also availble - it is a sports model 5 speed auto - not triptronic and of course bolts straight up to the mivec motor.
If the two are taken at once we woudl sell both motor and transmission for $7200.00 incl GST.
This is a very rare motor and will fit into the late model V6 engines with only very minor mods - engine mount positions bolt up perfectly and comes with driveshafts etc.
If you are interested then contact RPW straight away.

Id be keen for it however my insurance company won't touch me if i get a non standard motor, but they are willing to insure me if i turbo my 2.4... how very odd. And not a bad price too.

But blake it is a standard motor remember :D

YEs it will bolt directly up to the manuel 5 speed transmission using your origonla flywhel and clutch setup.
Yes it cmoes with a wiring harness undamaged (Although has the extra wires for the auto).
Comes with a warranty but I would need to check what is being offered with it but it is a runnign engine - I have heard it running.
Insurance is no problem because insurance companies don't know what Mivec stands for - all they would know is it is a 6G72 3.0 engine via the engine code.

My insurance company (HBF) is great for people who like modding their cars, they are very flexible, have great rates etc and have a large knowledge on what can and can't be done.
HBF won't allow any non standard motor, ie any motor that didn't leave the SA plant in a Magna.

Yer, fair call, but the engine that left the mistu plant was a 6G72 and the MIVEC is also a 6G72... get it... even tho its a MIVEC, the engine block is a 6G72!!

I know the MIVEC came from Japan but as GBM said SA did have 6G72's leave their plant (just not the flash MIVEC ones)

why the hell is it so damn expensive???
i can get a lexus 4.5Lt quad cam V8 import for $2000 (i know it doesnt have absolutely everything but for an extra $2k i reckon it wouldnt be a problem, i know a bloke that has one in his Triton ute!
shit even the 5.7 300kW genIII engines are only 5 to 6 grand!! and thats with everything to throw it into your 'dore or Hilux!!!
i can appreciate that its rare, but shit!!!
Also most i agree with David, most insurance companies would have no idea what MIVEC is!!!

Remember the 30m Magna / Diamente in japan is a rare beast hence the high price. The lexus engines etc are a dime a dozen in japan now hence the low price.

dude - i am just trying to get a price - i am after the engine, box loom etc - i will convert the engine to a manual - using my 5spd - and put an LSD in it while it is out of the car - but making the gearing longer - therefore it wont be sitting at 3 grand at 123 - instead maybe the LSD out of an auto turbo FTO - one with gearing for the auto - cos the 8A80 will have the torque to pull it - hmmm, that is an idea - but yeah - if u dont mind getting a price - price only though - for an 8A80 - with the above parts included - along with delivery to a WA residence.
Cheers
if u need anything from WA - let me know!! PM me details if u get any!!

not trying ot be sinical or anything
but for 6000-7000 , i think you could make well over 180kw ATW!
i mean, i dont htink it will really boost the re-sale value.... and with turbo's and the like coming out for the "Regular" 3.0l engine..... i dont see the point really
