A tinter quoted me $100 for removal... but that was with an installation service.

You can remove it all yourself.... for the gluey bits you will need to use a scraper blade, and if you dont want to be there for hours, use a steam gun ($40 from bunnings)

I personally would get someone to do it for you, and look at getting the car re-tinted with metalized tint

All up you will be up for $300-400 including removal of old tint

My experience on an older car was when it comes off the back window the demister strips usually get damaged. I got a broken rear windscreen on insurance ...... a rock hit it ...... seriously.

Use to work at tint a car.. If the tint is rippled an old it is a pain in the ass. Obviously most ppl don't have a steam gun.. If not, some boiling hot water in a pot is helpfull for a cheap option. It really comes down to the tint and what condition it's in as too how long it will take. As one mentioned above, be gentle when going over the dismister strips. But all in all, easy job to do, just a boring pain in the ass one.

A carton and a couple of mates will make it easier, but do the back window first while sober

Its a PITA.

Make sure you get every bit of glue off or when you wind the windows down they wont come back up and fall off the runners.

A case of beer between the 3 off us to do my mates sisters car wasnt worth it. (but she was hot.......)

why metallised? ive got a perference to carbon tint myself. while you can get some very good metallised tints, 3M carbon tint is one of the best on the market and has advantages over metallised
