TJ Lights have horizontal lines, TL lights no horizontal lines, TL VRX lights have no lines and are slightly tinted around the reflectors. If they have cheaped out, I advise you get them replaced with TL VRX ones immediately, they are worth a kidney.

If insured, yes. especially since they don't match!

They wont, all they will do is get another one so they are the same, they wont replace 2 tailights because one is different.

Only one was changed, the one they changed it to did not match, if that happened to me I'd be very pissed and demand the correct one be put on. Only 1 tail light would need to be purchased.

Then Read what the OP said, His original one was tinted around the edge (so NOT a vrx tailights) and the new one is Not tinted around the edges and has lines running through it.

Nothing to do with VRX tailights sheesh. All they will do is replace either one so they match again.

mate do you understand how insurance works?
the car was replaced with the correct tail light
his car is a TJ, and the tail light he got was for a TJ
sounds like they done the right thing
if he had aftermarket tail lights and there not on the policy, then they wont get replaced
the OP will have to either find another matching tail light or buy another set

YOUR insurance company can do that, IF you don't declare your mods, however THEIR insurance company cannot.

They can deny a claim. It has happened before, insurance companys will look for any excuse not to pay a claim.

Sure they can, then their client goes to court for cost of damages. Really bad publicity there.

Unless the modifications can be factored into causing the accident, they have no right to deny the claim.

If you want to get Narky about it, the TJ tailights, whilst they are on other model magnas, they didnt come on Yours standard, they can knock you back on that (even though they are ADR approved etc). Most insurance companys dont care about the publicity to a point, they can shrug your court case off as you had an illegally modified car without a full cert and they would win without fail.

Not saying this is how it happens every case but it Can happen.
