Hi there,
Might be a stupid question, but after having the loud exhaust on the car for a few weeks, it's been heaven driving around in a quiet car, but is there any way I can make it even quieter? What would I need to do to minimise road, wind and engine noise? Any suggestions?
Many thanks!

Applying sound deadening material to your car would help! Im talking dynamatt! I bought a bulk pack for my music system and it has made the car so much more pleasant to drive! Plus, my music is not heard from the outside of my car, even when its cranked! (Well, Ok , you can hear it a little when its cranked... :P)... but seriously, Sound deadening is goood!
Dynamat Xtreme.
There's other products, bang for buck I still vote for dynamat (and I should after handing over $800 to them.....soon to be another $300).
Its still not 'cheap'
However - its easy to apply, even when applied in an average way, sticks like **** to a blanket.
Reduces heat, noise, vibrations.
I'de go and just buy a Megapack ($600RRP from memory). This would cover your roof, floor, doors, and parcel tray/wheel tubs in the boot, and possibly boot floor.
This would kill a lot of noise, and reduce the heat aswell.
From there you can go and get Dynamat Dynaliner, which is even more expensive - but used on doors, A pillars, and anything that rattles, will make it even better (probably another $320 for 2 packs that should do A pillars, C pillars, front doors etc)
Not cheap - but hey, I love the stuff.

Bulk packs (half the size of a Mega pack) go for $245 shipped http://www.ryda.com.au/Dynamat-10455-Xtreme-Bulk-Pack-p/10455.htm
Supreme, are you the Suprememofo from the internode games network forums? (sorry to hijack the thread)

Does Dynamat actually make the car quieter inside though? I always thought Dynamat was designed to reduce vibrations from stereo components by adding extra weight to the panels - it wasn't actually designed to block out other noises.
Don't forget to give consideration to tyres too - trying to quiet road noise is going to be pointless if you have noisey tyres. I've got a set of Goodyear Excellence on my car which are a comfort-orientated tyre (much to my dismay :P) which are quite quiet compared to others I've heard.

Im interested to know how well Dynamat works also, im thinkin i might start small with it doing the doors when i fit some splits and maybe do the parcel shelf, boot floor and stuff later.
I would imagine doing the cabin floor would be a big job but would probly be worth it and make the most substantial difference.

Dude you drive a Verada? They are one of the quietest cars around for sensible money!!! I have a Magna, one of the reasons I got it is because they are so damn quiet. Just a little bit of wind noise and road noise is all you hear. If you listen carefully you can hear the sweet sounding v6 ticking over. To get anything quieter you'd have to spend heaps more on something like a benz or lexus.
When I go in other cars I can't help but notice how noisy and horrible sounding some of them are.

dynamat does strenghten panels to stop them flexing more
but it does also block out road noise while keeping the incaben noise inside the caben
