I went to order a pair of cross drilled for my TR 2.6L today and the guy at SCA recomended i go slotted over cross drilled.

He reckons that cross drilled crack and are only good for the track or if im towing!!

Any advice will help guys, as i've always thought cross drilled are better and we recently got them on my mums car and they have been the goods!!!

cheap cross drilled will probably crack if very hot and then get very wet. Its quite common. Besides, cross drilling aims to cure different ailments of standard discs over slotted. Cross drilling aids cooling by having a direct link between the disc face and disc vents. Slotted helps reduce glazing by removing dust from the face of the pad as friction creates it. Slotted also helps gases escape to a lesser extent than drilled. Best is a combination of both, but discs will be pricey for decent ones that wont crack so easily

Just go slotted mate. Cross drillings can crack between the holes, and on a daily driver the constant hot/cold cycling will accelerate the potential for this to happen.

The other point with cross drilling is that it reduces the surface area of the disc. Larger surface area = better braking.

Yep.
Also, how much you paying from SCA? I paid just over $100 each from hightek.
Also, the 4cyl brakes lick major wang. Upgrade to V6 rotors with twin pot calipers.

+1 for slotted!! had a crossed drilled rotor crack on me when I use to race (go karts) many many years ago. It happened after a lot of heavy braking and then the heavens opened up and a piece of rotor went on to the track, and I did the spin out from hell at the end of the straight  Never had a problem with my slotted rotor (was my spare) for years after that. Just my personally experience.
