Hey all,
Inspired by some previous posts on here I decided to change my interior lighting to red.
It's a fairly simple and cool mod to do.

Firstly the air control, sorry about the picture quality.
All I did with this was pulled the two globes out, removed the blue cover and replaced it with red electrical tape.

Then I did the gear highlights. This took a bit longer as I added a second globe due to bad distribution (lighter at the bottom and darker at the top because of the position of the globe)
I used a spare globe and connector from a spare air control unit i had and joined that too the original incandescent globe. Once again I just used electrical tape to colour it.

Lastly I changed the colour in my cigarette lighter and ashtray.

It all came together to become

Once again sorry for the image quality. Not bad for a $2 mod

Will be interesting to see how long the tape stays on after it gets hot and melts the glue on the tape,Hope it doesn't catch fire for your sake there is a lot of heat generated by the bulbs.

yeah I did consider that so I drove around with just the one globe covered the other night for about two hours and everything was still good

If its good electrical tape (3M) its unlikely that a few watt globe will do anything to it.

I use the stuff on items that get dirt, oil, grease, water and heat soak - it holds up just fine.

EDIT: P.S looks good.

Good idea on the gear highlights... not sure about the rest of the console though. Red LEDs are only a couple of bucks off fleabay. I'd gladly pay that for the piece of mind. End result does look good though :D
