hey guy, yesterday, i put in two MTX road thunder 12" in, blaupunkt amp, and a jvc headunit in. its sounds awesome

Despite sounding good, there are a few problems is still the dash :cry: for some reason i don't think i put it back properly. firstly, when i tried to get the stock headunit out, one of the screws were too tight, and when i tried to take it out, the little teeth grinded off, so i had to get a drill and basically drill out the screw. after that i think i bent the metal frame, but it fitted fine when i was screwing it back in. now, the centre console (heater controls) seems to be a little further out than its supposed to, air-con light doesn't switch on, and i broke the clip on the right of the air-con vent piece:cry: :cry: . also, the clips are on the vertical sides of the air-con vents, i couldn't get them out attacking them from the bottom.

lastly, my headunit is a bit of a tight fit in the hole, doesn't seem to fit very well, had to squeeze it in a little.

anywayz, probably go to wreackers for a new air-con vent piece..what do u reckon the price on one of them is? also, air-con light? replace it? how? reckon i should take apart the whole dash and put it back together again properly?

first test this - the aircon light will only come on if the fans are blowing - ie- you have to turn the fan notch around to either 1, 2, 3 or 4 or else the aircon light won't turn on

try that first as it is the cheapest thing to do ;)

i had the same problem with the aircon sort of, i had to press the button twice for the light to come on. My problem was i hadnt put the two clips inbetween the air con controls and the stereo all the way in, u can to push damn hard to get them back in.

anywayz, the clips on the air-con control surround kept coming off, as in when i tip the piece of plastic horizontally, the clips would just fall off by themselves. that's probably teh problem :evil:
