hey guys
noticed abit of fluid around my front right tyre today and thought i would investigate
at first i thought the CV has shat itself and thrown its oil everywhere
so anyways pop the tyre off the car to have a better look and i found this:

this is where the brake line is attached to the caliper, seems to be leaking brake fluid from this point
as some of you may know i upgraded to 380 brakes about 3 weeks ago and havent had any major problems
i think the previous owner had the same problems as there was alot of build up on the back of the caliper around the area
of course at the time i didnt know what it was, so just cleaned them up and wacked them on
now the same things happening again but seems to have just started
im thinking maybe the bolt head is loose? or the seals gone
anyone have any ideas?
would like to get this sorted asap :)
cheers rob

just undo the bolt and check the seal, its the easiest thing to do. it doesnt look to major, the bolt could be also threaded so check that.

Maybe you could try cleaning the area, tightening the fitting a little more and just check it later to see if its still leaking. Then replace the seal if it does.
EDIT: did you make sure the surfaces where nice and clean when you fitted them? could just be dirty under the seal

yeah but wouldn't taking the bolt out mean that i'll get covered in brake fluid?
then have to rebleed the line?
i just went out to check to see if the bolt had come loose, managed to tighten it up alittle more with little force

thats what i just did like 2mins ago

Were there any small copper washers supplied with the brakes?

Does this mean there are no seals on there

as stated before, i got these brakes off another member
everything was already together before it was in my hands
all i had to do was connect the brake line to the ABS on the car then bolt up the calipers
so im not sure if the seal/washer is on right unless i check it out
but the caliper was cleaned before it went on

I see sorry mate, i assumed that was the connection point when you fitted them

It needs the copper washer between the caliper and the banjo bolt
That is the sealing point as that point is under high pressure when the brakes are applied
Any brake shop like ABS can supply these washers that will guarantee a 100% seal

alrighty, ever since i've tighten the bolt up alittle more seems like the leaking has stopped
will moniter it over the next week just to be sure
also seems the brakes are working alittle better now :)
