I'm after bulbs that are the same wattage as the stock ones but provide a little more or better light. Anyone here moved away from the stock bulbs and tried something like Narva? Do they actually provide better illumination?

I put Philips BlueVision in my old stock lights and they were pretty good. They were a bit brighter and were a whiter light. They cost around $50 hor a pair of H4's and $60 for H1's from memory. You get a set of parkers in both so you end up with spare parkers.

I've just put in those Narva plus 50's today (H4, 12V 60/55w p43t, P/No 44872BL2). I've got stock magna headlight set.

Noticably brighter as they use xenon gas and are not halogen (as the pack says about 50% more light and a 20m longer beam than a standard halogen). They are supposed to last 65% longer than high wattage alternatives. They are street legal according to the pack.

On my drive around tonight I was less inclined to go for the highbeams where there were no street lights.

They are pretty cheap ($26 at Repcos)and I reckon the swapover was worthwhile. The difference is not out of this world, but still worthwhile.

A bit of a pain to get the globes out (had to move the wiper washer bottle, struggled with the battery holder getting in the way and one of the stock globes was gummed up (?!?) making it hard to remove the black connector.

Yeah, I remember you mentioning these. I also remember the price you said they were :D Holy smokes! Are they the same wattage as the stock ones?

Thanks, guys.
